Rich Anti-SLAPP Appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Clinic represents several musicians from Central New York who were sued for libel after they accused a fellow musician of sexual misconduct. Although a lower court dismissed the suit against our clients, the Clinic is helping them seek reimbursement for their attorneys\u2019 fees through New York&#8217;s recently-amended Anti-SLAPP Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April 2024, Clinic student Cameron Misner (&#8217;24) argued our clients&#8217; appeal before a five-judge panel at the Appellate Division, Fourth Department.  A recording of the oral argument is available at the video below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Appellate Division denied our clients&#8217; appeal without explanation, affirming the lower court&#8217;s refusal to award attorneys&#8217; fees.
