Documented v. New York State Department of Labor

The Clinic represents Documented, a New York-based nonprofit news site, in its efforts to gain access to records that would allow Documented to create an interactive database of companies in New York that have stolen wages from employees. After filing FOIL litigation in July 2020, Documented received certain records from the New York State Department of Labor via a negotiated settlement. The Clinic is continuing to represent Documented in efforts to obtain additional records.
