Joseph Gallagher

Joseph Gallagher is the First Amendment Clinic's Local Government Project Attorney. ​ The project is a statewide pilot initiative focused on strengthening First Amendment and open government protections in New York State school boards.

Joseph's background is in local government and election law. As an attorney at a New York City government agency, he worked in campaign finance law. He also worked as an associate at a large New York firm in its employment law group, and as a staff attorney at a nonprofit legal services organization for young people. Joseph is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Yale University School of Drama, and City University of New York.
